we saw a coyote just walking down our street a few nights ago.  guess it's time to put up the wildlife map and track the critter sightings.  : )

Hi Awesome EM! We saw 2 crows (or ravens) and a hawk today at school. The ravens were mad at the hawk.

Good eyes! You girls should come to the library and we'll look up crows and ravens. (Shhh--I don't know the difference either.) I love to watch hawks soaring in the sky. : )

I can tell you the difference! Crows actually do not generally live in Santa Clarita, as we have ravens that are much bigger. They likely compete for the same food, making the crows unlikely to want to live here. Crows are more social, and are less picky eaters. They usually live in urban areas. Ravens tend to live in more rural areas. Hope that helps!
